Great celebrations after Grand Slam and Creggs Connacht win

Last Saturday a capacity attendance watched Ireland deliver the Grand Slam and pick up the 6-Nations Championship and Triple Crown trophies in London. A rare occasion that most of us have gratefully see happen twice in the past decade.
Throw in the great additional celebrations of Creggs First team winning the Connacht Junior League and returning to the top level rugby again, and you get a really rare occasion to celebrate in with another capacity crown in Roscommon Town. And that’s what happened – an amazing afternoon drifted in to a great evening and night.
A special thanks to the O’Gara family who hosted the wider Creggs Rugby family in their new bar (Nancy’s). And in addition to congratulating Ireland, a special congrats to all involved in Creggs winning the Connacht League with a game in hand.
Finally, well done to Sean Brandon, who was one of three that correctly predicted the Ireland v England score at the event on St. Patrick’s Day and his name was the lucky one of the three drawn from the hat – his prize was an Ireland rugby jersey.

Curley Cup Final
Creggs First Team will also play Corinthians RFC on Good Friday, the 30th. March in the Curly Cup Final. The game will be played in Ballyhaunis – KO 7.30pm.

The event format will see each registered team committing to running the 42-kilometer distance of a full marathon in your club colours – all while carrying a rugby ball! This distance will be completed as a relay, by teams of up to 21 members aged 10 and upwards. This means a Minimum of 2km per runner/walker. This year funds raised are going toward initiatives run by Tackle Your Feelings, a mental health and well-being programme ran by the Rugby Player Ireland foundation.
If interested, please let us know and once we have numbers competing, we will create a text group where all information will be put up for the next steps to follow.
