Creggs U -14 recorded a great 41 – 10 victory over a strong Galwegians side in Galway on Saturday last.

With No. 8 Shane Connaughton in outstanding form, Creggs took control of this encounter early on. The Creggs forwards dominated from start to finish with Anthony Gorman, Ruairi O’Brien, Michael McAteer and Robert Colleran carrying the ball forward to great effect.

Connaughton ended the day with four tries with Darren Gately, Anthony Gorman and Ciaran Purcell also crossing the line. Other backs who performed particularly well on the day were Dara Hughes, Mark Kilcommons and Mark Dowd. Training continues for the U14’s Wednesday night at 7pm.

A Special Mention to Creggs U13 player Callum Clarke who showed great bravery and calmness recently and saved the life of his grandfather following a near fatal incident on Killina Lake, last Thursday evening.

A Hero among us, well done to Callum and a speedy recovery to his Grandfather Sean.

Great to see rugby back on The Green today with our U16 girls welcoming Galwegians to Creggs and coming out on top in their league encounter.

Sunshine and showers , and a good crowd in attendance and plenty of smiling faces , roll on the rest of the season .
