U16 League

Castlebar RFC 0 Creggs RFC 10

Creggs U16’s travelled to Castlebar on Saturday night in round 3 of the league and kept their unbeaten start to the league in tact after a close game. Castlebar were a very hard team to break down on the night and didn’t lack any commitment on the night in the tackle and breakdown areas. Creggs began well and were unlucky when Jason Hoare was adjudged to have been held up early on, however they continued to move the ball at every opportunity and capped it off with a very good try by Niall Cunniffe in the first half which gave Creggs a 5-0 half time lead and in the second half Eoghan Coyle secured the victory with a try in the corner after good work from Shane Purcell, Cian Gately and Ronan Dowd. Upfront Creggs did well in the set piece with David O Gorman, Daire Byrne, Ian Conlon and Danny Arnold prominent and Paraic Gaffey and Tim Lambe also did well in the back Line. Creggs U16’s next Play Westport at home on the weekend of the 29th/30th November.
