Under-15’s were understrength for visit to fancied Ballina side

28

The Creggs Rugby Under-15’s who were defeated away to a very strong Ballina RFC team last weekend in Ballina. This team is missing a number of players with injuries picked up during the summer and a small number of players involved in other codes in recent weeks, but it is a very promising squad and should be returning to near full strength in the next couple of weeks, with great prospects of finishing out the Connacht League in real style and having a strong Connacht Cup run.

Training continues in Creggs on Wednesday nights and new players always very welcome. A friendly game v St. Mary’s Ballygar Junior team is also being arranged for this week.

A Special Mention to Creggs U13 player Callum Clarke who showed great bravery and calmness recently and saved the life of his grandfather following a near fatal incident on Killina Lake, last Thursday evening.

A Hero among us, well done to Callum and a speedy recovery to his Grandfather Sean.

Great to see rugby back on The Green today with our U16 girls welcoming Galwegians to Creggs and coming out on top in their league encounter.

Sunshine and showers , and a good crowd in attendance and plenty of smiling faces , roll on the rest of the season .
