Creggs RFC 5 Corinthians RFC 26

Creggs Under-14’s suffered their first Connacht Under-14 A League game loss of the season to Corinthians of Galway last Saturday afternoon in Creggs, coming out on the wrong side of a 26-5 loss.
Corinthians travelled with a bigger squad and were the better team in the early stages scoring two very early tries, both of which were converted to give them a 14-0 lead.
Up front for Creggs Edimar Fimho, Ciaran Purcell, Lee Kilcoyne and Tomas Tiernan were showing very well but the bigger Corinthians back line were finding gaps early on but Daniel O Shaugnessy and Senan Lambe did well in defence to stop them.
Creggs managed to get into the game and were very unfortunate just before half time that Corinthains got a bit of luck to get in for another try to take a 21-0 lead.
Creggs game improved in the second half and it was a very even game with Michael McAteer, Aidan Hoare, and Daniel Flynn prominent up front and out the backs Jack Fleming, Aodhan Looby and Tadg Lyons were taking on the ball and were now threatening their opponents line but after 15 Minutes Corinthians broke away for a try to lead 26-0.
Creggs did manage a try through Brian McLoughlin after great work from Cormac Dolan and Daniel Hughes. Creggs Under-14’s remain joint top of the Connacht League and have no game next week but will travel to Ballinaslloe RFC in two weeks in a must win game.
