Corinthians 29 Creggs 14

Corinthians proved too strong for Creggs in Saturday evening’s Junior 1B League fixture at Corinthian Park. Creggs got off to a very positive start with a fine try by Ger Heneghan following a searing break by scrumhalf Chris Duignan . However Corinthians hit back almost immediately with a try and they finished the half strongly with another try to lead 12 -5 at the break. Corinthians continued to dominate and scored a further 2 tries before Creggs captain Tom Callaghan crashed over for a try which Ger Heneghan converted to give his team a boost entering the final quarter. Corinthians were not to be denied and held on for a deserved win despite the best efforts of the Creggs team. Creggs have a home fixture against Ballyhaunis on Saturday next and will be looking to improve on this display .
