Creggs RFC 43 Castlebar 5

Creggs RFC U16’s qualified for the Connacht Division 1 League semi final with a 43-5 win over Castlebar RFC on Saturday night. Played under lights in extremely cold conditions both teams must be commended in their attempts to keep the game flowing even during blizzard type conditions at times during the game. Creggs had tries through James Brandon, Niall Cunniffe and Ronan Dowd in the first half and a conversion from Shane Purcell left the half time score 17-5. Playing with the wind in the second half further tries from Adam Canny, Ronan Dowd (2) and Jason Hoare and 3 conversions from Ronan Dowd completed the scoring. The U16’s will have a home semi final however the line up for these Semi Finals has not yet been completed with a couple of more game yet to be completed in the group.

Hi Folks,
Creggs Rugby Club are looking to take part in this year’s Big Rugby Run on May 22nd. The event format will see each registered team committing to running the 42-kilometer distance of a full marathon in your club colours – all while carrying a rugby ball! This distance will be completed as a relay, by teams of up to 21 members aged 10 and upwards. This means a Minimum of 2km per runner/walker. This year funds raised are going toward initiatives run by Tackle Your Feelings, a mental health and well-being programme ran by the Rugby Player Ireland foundation.
