Denis Buckley stars for Connacht in Champions Cup

95

Congrats to Roscommon native and former Creggs player, Denis Buckley who starred for Connacht in their win by 23-20 in the European Champions Cup over one of the giants of modern French club rugby, Montpellier (or to give it the full title – Montpellier Hérault Rugby).

Paul Boyle and Ultan Dillane congratulate Denis Buckley on his very important turnover at a key time in the game

Denis put in a great performance and unusual for props in the professional game, he played the full game. He contributed to a strong Connacht scrum against a strong Montpellier eight and did the hard-work in the line-out too.

In open play he was immense with 18 tackles, which was three more than any other player on the field and Connacht fans will remember that very important turnover late on in the game that both drained Montpellier and invigorated his team and supporters.

Well done to our Connacht Club Ambassador Denis, and best wishes for the game in Toulouse next weekend and for the rest of the season.
