Land Rover Ireland and BOD look for mascot to lead out the Ireland team at Rugby World Cup

Land Rover Ireland Ambassador and ex-Ireland International Brian O’Driscoll is looking for a young Irish rugby fan to lead out the national team at Rugby World Cup 2019, Japan.

Land Rover, as a Worldwide Partner of Rugby World Cup 2019, is giving youngsters aged 7 to 13 the chance to win the momentous prize of becoming an official Mascot for Ireland at the Tournament. The lucky winner will lead the Irish team onto the pitch for their match against Scotland on Sunday 22 September 2019 at International Stadium Yokohama.

To enter the competition, entrants must put together a short video demonstrating why they would be a great mascot. The video could be a galvanising team talk, some inspirational words of advice for Ireland’s Captain in advance of the first game or a rousing rendition of Ireland’s Call!

Entries must be submitted to Land Rover Ireland’s social media handles on Instagram @landrover_ie and Twitter @LandRover_IE and include the hashtags #aboveandbeyond and #ireland.  All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges including Land Rover Ambassador and ex-Ireland International Brian O’Driscoll.

Brian O’Driscoll said, “This is a once in a lifetime experience from Land Rover Ireland to win the privilege of walking the Irish Rugby Team out onto the pitch for their first game in Rugby World Cup 2019. It’s a phenomenal opportunity for one young rugby fan.”

Eddie Kavanagh, Jaguar Land Rover Ireland Managing Director, said, “We’re delighted to offer young rugby fans this fantastic opportunity and we’re looking forward to reviewing the entries from across the country. Land Rover is a supporter of rugby from grassroots to International level and it’s fantastic to be able to offer a young rugby fan this once in a lifetime experience at Rugby World Cup 2019.”

The closing date for the competition is next Wednesday, the 31st. July 2019 and the winner will be announced in August. For competition entry details, competition terms and conditions and further information log onto
