Mini Commece, Girls u.14v Buccs Boys u15 V Tuam

Last Saturday was a busy day in Creggs with the start of the Saturday mini rugby. Great numbers of boys and girls attended and we also had a lot of new players. Mini rugby will continue at 10am each Saturday morning. (see photos)
Creggs Girls U.14s played in Creggs V Buccaneers RFC. For some girls this was their first game of 15 a side rugby. Buccs started well with 2 tries but then Creggs found their feet and scored a try. Creggs girls put in a great effort for the rest of the game in an enjoyable game. Ultimately though Buccs got the win with a 3 try to 9 try score line. Well done girls keep up the training

Creggs Boys u.15 Maroon team travelled to Tuam Rugby Football Club to play another round of the Connacht Division 2 league. Both teams were evenly matched and it took 20 minutes to break the try line. Creggs had a yellow card issued and the Tuam took the advantage were first to score a try and converted to lead 7 – nil. Just before half time Creggs scored in the corner so were behind 5 – 7 at the break. Shortly after half time Creggs got their 2nd try now leading 10 -7. Again the referee deemed a foul sufficient to lead to a red card and Creggs were down to 14 for the rest of the match. Having defended well the loss of a player left a void and 10 minutes before full time Tuam got in for a winning try. Match finished 12 -10 in Tuam’s favour. This was a great sporting game and the season ahead looks good for this team.
