U15’s lose out to Corinthians

0 12

Creggs under 15s suffered defeat at the hands of Corinthians last Sunday in the Connacht U-15 League. The team lined out thin on numbers due to various minor injuries and were further depleted suffering a string of Injury’s meaning they finished the game with just 14.

Some of the absentees included Mark Dolan, Adam Whyte, Conor Shanagher, with Edward Clinton and Michael Feely forced to play even though both carrying knocks. Things got worse at half time when inspirational captain Brian Diffley had to leave the field.

Finding ourselves behind at half time, our depleted ranks never gave up, scoring two converted tries and unlucky not to score at least two more. We are looking for a big turnout at training on Thursday night as we prepare for an away trip to Ballinasloe next weekend.

It was good to see Dylan Morrin and Breen Fallon back in the fold, and a speedy recovery is wished for Theo McGuinness who sustained an injury in the first half.

U-15 training as usual and a match v Ballinasloe RFC next weekend.

Creggs; Conor McNeill, Theo McGuinness, Michael Feely, Dan Butt, Edward Clinton, Michael Farrell, James McNally, Max Bannon, Rory Cunniffe, Thomas O Byrne, Aidan Devine, James Fetherstone, Sean Doorly, Brian Diffley, Richard Thomson, Breen Fallon, Mark Tarmey, Dylan Morrin.

A Special Mention to Creggs U13 player Callum Clarke who showed great bravery and calmness recently and saved the life of his grandfather following a near fatal incident on Killina Lake, last Thursday evening.

A Hero among us, well done to Callum and a speedy recovery to his Grandfather Sean.

Great to see rugby back on The Green today with our U16 girls welcoming Galwegians to Creggs and coming out on top in their league encounter.

Sunshine and showers , and a good crowd in attendance and plenty of smiling faces , roll on the rest of the season .
