U18 League

19

Creggs RFC 20 Galwegians RFC 25

Creggs U18.5’s who had already qualified for the semi finals of the U18 league went down to a more committed Galwegians side last Sunday in Creggs by 25 points to 20. Galwegians needs to win to make the top 4 and were very much on top in the first half going in 20 – 3 up, with Creggs only score coming from the boot of Ben McGahon. Creggs made changes in the second half and brought on some players who had been rested for this occasion and although they gave away and early try to Wegians to leave them 25-3 down, they then gained better control of the ball and moved the opposition around the pitch a bit better and had 3 tries themselves from Jason Hoare and Eoghan Coyle bringing the score back to 25-20 with 5 minutes remaining but just ran out of time. Creggs will have the same opposition in the league semi final on Sunday 4th of February and will need to up their intensity for that encounter if they want to reach the league final. Training continues Friday at 8.30pm.
