Galwegians 5 – Creggs 8
Creggs U13’s put in a great performance to beat Galwegians 8-5 last Saturday morning in Galway in the U13 League.
Creggs had much the better of territory and possession in the first half and the Creggs forwards with Tom Farrell, Thomas O Brien , John Why and Jack Hanley were very prominent with ball in hand. Creggs continued to attack and were awarded a penalty on the stoke of half time which Mark Purcell converted for an 8-0 half time lead.
In the second half Galwegians tried to move the ball wide but Aodha Hession, Jack Mcgahan, Karl Healy and Roddie McGuinness put in great tackles when required. Upfront Creggs were forcing turnovers and Adam bracken , Sean Tully and Jack Keegan did very well in the loose and Karl Healy and Adam Bracken came close to adding to the Creggs scores but were just held up short on two separate occasions.
Galwegians did get in for a try with 3 minutes left but Creggs held out and played the remaining minutes in their opponents half and the game finished 8-5.
