Primary Teacher’s Summer Course
And for the second year in-a-row, the same week (July 1-5) as the Summer Camp, Creggs Rugby Club hosts a primary teacher’s summer course titled: “Teaching Fundamental Movement Skills in PE through Tag Rugby”.
The course is facilitated by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU). The aim of this Summer course is to introduce Tag Rugby to teachers’ PE classes as a means of helping in acquisition of an appropriate range of movement skills across the PE strands.
The cut-off date is this Friday (June 14th.) for any primary school teachers wishing to do this excellent summer course – and at the time of writing, 23 of the 25 places had already been filled.

Girls 10 to 14 years continue to ‘Give It A Try’ this Summer
‘Give It A Try Summer 2019′ is an 8 week programme run in selected clubs where girls aged from 10 to 14 can attend and learn how to play rugby in a fun environment.
It started in Creggs RFC on the new 4G pitch on Bank Holiday Monday (6th May) evening and has run each Monday since from 6.30 – 7.30pm. It is proving very popular and a great success and there are still two weeks left to ’Give It A Try’.
The ‘Give It A Try programme’ is an ideal way to kick start the participation of girls in our club or to boost existing playing numbers by attracting new young players to the game with a fun introduction to the sport.
This year there is a substantial increase in the number of Connacht clubs hosting the programme. For more information, you can call Dave Purcell at 086 0434263 or email him at: email@example.com
