Captain Ciara Downey got two tries in the game, one in either half. Out-half Grace Shaughnessy scored a try & kicked two conversions on a very wet and windy day.
The game provided end to end rugby action with both sets of supporters enjoying the game. Emily Kelly got over the line for Creggs with 10 minutes left in the game then Westport/ Corrib scored under the post with four minutes to play. The score was now 24-24 .
Creggs regained the ball after the restart and worked there way up the field showing great heart & determination. Creggs got the ball to Sadie Davaney who drove through the Westport/Corrib defence to score the winner.
The game finished 29-24. As always it was a team effort with all squad members getting time on the field. Their next Cup game is in two weeks, playing away to Loughrea RFC.
